Counting hikers on wilderness trails.

TrailCount helps land stewards understand how their trails are used. Battery-powered sensors in the field count hikers passing by and report in daily over cellular. The dashboard plots traffic over time — per trail and per wilderness area — so changes in use show up as patterns, not anecdotes.

TrailCount is sponsored by Adirondack Wilderness Advocates and built in collaboration with RIT senior-project teams.
